(Milwaukee, WI) - The Sabres split a pair of road matches on Sunday afternoon to move to 9-4 on the season. They dropped their first match 5-4 to Carroll University, but rebounded with a 9-0 victory over Mount Mary College.
In their loss to Carroll, Emily Bates (Fond du Lac, WI), Reilly Connaher (Fond du Lac, WI) and Melanie Seitz (Panama City, Panama) were all winners in single splay. Connaher and Seitz came back from first set losses to win their respective matches.
In doubles play, Bates and Seitz won 8-5 at #3 doubles for Marian's only victory.
Against Mount Mary, all six of Marian's players won in two sets in their singles matches. Michelle Zwicky (Fond du Lac, WI) and Jamie Raquet (Fond du Lac, WI) won 8-4 at #1 doubles, while Rebecca Heczko (Iron Mountain, MI) and Connaher won 8-4 at #2 doubles. Bates and Seitz were 8-1 winners at #3 doubles.
After Sunday's matches, Connaher stands at 13-0 in singles competition and 11-2 in doubles competition. Seitz and Bates are 10-1 as #3 doubles partners. Seitz is also 11-2 in singles competition.
