(Waukesha, WI) - The Northern Athletics Conference has announced the awards for the 2009 women's soccer season, as voted on by the conference's head coaches. Included are 14-member First and Second All-NAC Teams, honorable mention selections, a 14-member All-Freshman Team, a 12-member All-Sportsmanship Team and the four individual awards of Defensive Player, Offensive Player, Freshman and Coach of the Year.
Marian's Danielle Grable (Neenah, WI) was named to the NAC First Team, while Mariel Bartolutti (Fond du Lac, WI), Sara Hoffman (Wisconsin Rapids, WI), and Kim Kriese (Stevens Point, WI) were NAC Second Team selections. Brittany Graham (Alvin, WI) was named to the All-Freshman Team.
Grable, a senior, led the team in scoring this past season with 31 points (13G/5A). She started in all 19 games and was recently named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team. Her 31 points placed her ninth in total points in the conference. She was a Second Team selection a year ago.
Bartolutti, a junior, was a force all season on the defensive end as she started all 19 games. She scored two goals and added an assist. Hoffman, a sophomore defender earned her second straight NAC Second Team selection in as many years. She scored seven points (2G/3A) for the Sabres. Hoffman was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. Kriese was second on the team in scoring with 28 points (11 G/6A). She was a NAC First Team selection in 2007 and 2008. The junior is currently tied for second on the all-time scoring list at Marian with 119 points (50G/19A).
Graham was named to the All-Freshman Team as she was third on the team in scoring. She recorded 10 goals and 1 assist for 21 points.
