(Fond du Lac, WI) - Edgewood College out-rebounded Marian 58-35 on Wednesday evening as they defeated the Sabres 73-50. The Eagles pulled down an impressive 28 offensive rebounds and turned them into 21 points. The Eagles earned the sweep in the season series and moved to 10-10 overall and 10-3 in the Northern Athletics Conference. Marian fell to 5-14 overall and 2-11 in the NAC.
The Eagles led for much of the first half and took a 35-22 lead into the break. The Sabres shot just 26% from the field in the half and were out-rebounded 31-17. Alexis Becker (North Fond du Lac, WI) led the Sabres with 12 points in the half.
Edgewood led by double-digits the entire second half and pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Becker finished with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals to lead the Sabres. Brooke Haen (Oakfield, WI) finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Emily Reiter (Hilbert, WI) finished with 9 points and 10 rebounds.
Marian is back in action again on Saturday, as they will host Wisconsin Lutheran. Action is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
