(Lisle, IL) - The Sabres offense struggled on Saturday as they dropped two games on the road at Benedictine University. The Eagles won game one 15-3 in seven innings and finished the day with a 5-3 victory.

Marian (7-17, 3-7 NAC) was out-hit 14-5 in the first game as the Eagles scored in five of the six innings in which they hit. The Sabres scored all three of their runs in the second inning.

Tim Holtz (Oshkosh, WI) had two of Marian's five hits in the contest.

In a much closer game two, the Sabres scored a run in both the eighth and ninth innings to make things interesting, but it wasn't enough.

Chad Langley (Racine, WI) had a good game at the plate as he was 4-for-4. Jace Unrein (Racine, WI) and Ryan Dalton (Franklin, WI) both had a pair of hits.

Women's Volleyball

Sophomore Michielah Navis (Waupun, WI) helped the Sabres open the season with a 2-2 record at the St. Norbert College Tournament. Navis led the team with 104 assists this weekend. She was second on the team in digs (37) and service aces (6).

Jade Koeune

Women's Soccer

Freshman Jade Koeune (Winneconne, WI) had a solid opening week for the women's soccer team. Koeune sat out last season with a knee injury, but tied for the team-lead in scoring in week one. She scored five points (1G/3A) for the Sabres, who beat Beloit College, but fell to UW-Oshkosh.
