(Fond du Lac, WI) - Carthage College was victorious in a pair of games on Tuesday evening at Herr-Baker Field. The Red Men came from behind and won game one 7-6 in eight innings and then had two pitchers combine to throw a no-hitter in their 9-0 game two victory. 

Marian (10-22) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game one in the first off an Eric Weber (Mt. Calvary, WI) two-RBI double. They then added a run in the second and third innings off RBI-singles from Chad Langley (Racine, WI) and Will Lentz (Oxford, WI). 

Carthage scored three times in the fifth to make it 4-3, but the Sabres added to their lead with a pair in the bottom of the frame. Lentz knocked in a pair with a single. 

Marian recorded two outs to start the sixth inning, but the Red Men went on to score a pair of runs on two hits and a Marian error. 

In the seventh, the Red Men evened the game at 6-6 to force extra innings. They scored a run in the top of the eighth and then won the game on a play at the plate in the bottom of the inning. Marian's Will Martin (Villa Park, IL) was thrown out at the plate on a close play to end the game. 

Both teams had eleven hits in the contest.

Ryan Hiller (Marshfield, WI), Langley, Lentz, and Weber all had two hits for Marian. Lentz drove in three, while Weber added a pair. 

In game two, the Red Men scored three times in the second, twice in the fifth, and four in the sixth in their victory. 

Brett McQuade and Bryan Kieffer combined to throw a no-hitter in the contest. 

Carthage is now 21-11.

Amy Malcore
Softball
Malcore finished her career with an impressive Northern Athletics Conference Tournament. She was 5-for-11 (.455) at the plate with a double and a home run. She scored a team-high four times and slugged .818.
Anthony Porcaro
Baseball
Porcaro led the Sabres with a .500 average (8-for-16) this week. He sported an on-base percentage of .619 and scored a team-high six runs. He also added a pair of RBI.
