(Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University dropped a pair of non-conference contests on Tuesday to St. Norbert College. The Green Knights won game one 9-4 and held on to win 2-1 in the nightcap.

Marian is now 16-17 overall, while St. Norbert improved to 26-6.

The Green Knights broke open a 4-3 game in the top of the sixth with five runs. Breanne Oehlke hit a three-run home run in the inning. Marian scored once in the bottom half, but it wasn't enough.

Maria Archie (Madison, WI) led the Sabres offense with a pair of hits and RBIs. Jenna Whitehead (Kimberly, WI) also added a pair of hits.

Oehlke was 3-for-3 with four RBIs.

In game two, Marian scored in the bottom of the second to take a 1-0 lead. The Green Knights answered with a pair of their own in the top of the third and that was all they would need.

Marian had some good opportunities to score, but couldn't cash in. They had a runner thrown out at home in the third and left two stranded. In the sixth, they had runners on first and third with one out, but the inning ended with a double-play. Then, in the seventh, after an Amy Malcore (Luxemburg, WI) double to lead off the inning, they moved her to third with a sac-bunt, but were unable to knock her in.

Malcore led the offense with a pair of hits, while Jamie Whitehead (Kimberly, WI) struck out four in her seven innings pitched. She didn't give up an earned run.
