(Fond du Lac, WI) - Marian University and Benedictine University only completed one game on Friday evening, but it was a good one. Benedictine University hit a two-run home run in the top of the tenth to upend Marian 3-1.

Marian (16-18, 8-11 NAC) scored first in this one, as Kristyn Schmidt (Rosendale, WI) drove in Ashley Engler (Waterford, WI) in the fourth inning.

Marian's lead didn't last long however, as the Eagles scored in the top of the fifth on a RBI-double.

The game stayed that way until the tenth inning when the leadoff hitter for Benedictine reached on an error. A sacrifice bunt and groundout moved the runner to third and then Erin Galloway delivered the game-winning two-run home run to center field.

Engler led the Sabres at the plate with three hits. Cherise Waltz (South Byron, WI) pitched well in the defeat. She scattered ten hits in ten innings and gave up just one earned run.

These two teams will make up game two tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM.
