(Fond du Lac, WI) - Lakeland College swept a pair of games on Monday evening at Herr-Baker Field. The Muskies (21-15, 12-8 NAC) won game one 12-6 and finished the day with an 11-8 victory. Marian is now 11-25 overall and 7-13 in the NAC. The Sabres will finish off the regular season on Saturday, as they will host Concordia University-Wisconsin.

In game one, the Muskies Lee Chepil was dominant as he scattered eight hits and struck out seven. He gave up just one earned run.

The Muskies out-hit the Sabres 17-13 in the contest as they led 12-1 going into the bottom of the ninth. Marian scored five times, but it was not enough.

Josh Klismith (Stevens Point, WI) had a nice offensive game, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs. He doubled twice. Ryan Hiller (Marshfield, WI), Will Martin (Villa Park, IL), and Phil Seis (Antigo, WI) all added a pair of hits.

The Sabres stranded eleven runners on the base paths.

In game two, Marian jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and still led 5-3 heading into the fourth inning. In the fourth, the Muskies scored four times to take their first lead of the contest. Marian answered with a run in the bottom half to make it 7-6, but the Muskies made it 9-6 in the fifth.

Marian once again cut the deficit to one run in the sixth with two runs. The Muskies went on to score single runs in the seventh and eighth, which proved to be too much to overcome for Marian.

The Sabres brought the winning run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, but their rally was ended by a fine defensive play by Muskie third baseman, Steven Kalina.

Jace Unrein (Racine, WI) was 4-for-5 in the contest with four RBIs to lead the offense. Tim Holtz (Oshkosh, WI) had three hits and two runs, while Anthony Porcaro (Burlington, WI), Seis, and Martin all had two hits. Seis also drove in a pair.
