(Platteville, WI) - Marian University gave up three first period goals on Tuesday evening and fell to UW-Platteville 3-1 in a non-conference tilt. The Sabres are now 1-2 on the year, while the Pioneers moved to 3-1.

The Pioneers got on the board in the 13th minute as Sarah Eck dribbled up field and found the back of the net from five yards out. The Pioneers got a little help from Marian in the 36th minute as they scored an own goal after a Marian player headed the ball into the net. Eck went on to tally her second goal of the contest later in the period.

Marian's goal came late in the contest as Mariel Bartolutti (Fond du Lac, WI) scored on a free kick from forty yards out.

The Pioneers out-shot Marian 17-5 in the contest.

Tiffany Erdman (Wausau, WI) stopped three shots in the contest.

Marian is back in action again on Saturday, as they open up the conference part of their schedule. They will travel to River Forest, Illinois to take on Concordia University-Chicago.
