Athletic Hall of Fame to be Established at Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – In conjunction with the newly founded Sabre Club, Marian University's primary fundraising arm for the athletic department, Athletic Director Jason Murphyannounced that the department will also unveil an athletic hall of fame. Nominations will be accepted through July 15, with the inaugural class induction taking place October 6, 2012.
 
“An athletic hall of fame is something we feel should have been established a long time ago at Marian and the time is now to make it happen,” Murphy stated. “Marian has seen a lot of great student-athletes, coaches and administrators give their service to the athletic department and it's about time we return the favor and recognize them for helping Marian athletics become what it is today.”
 
The celebration of Marian's inaugural hall of fame class will be held over Homecoming Weekend. On Friday, October 5, the Hall of Fame Sabre Golf Classic will kick things off. Saturday afternoon, October 6, home volleyball and men's and women's soccer matches will be held leading up to the Inaugural Hall of Fame Induction Dinner in the evening.
