Marian Adds New Indoor Golf Training Facility

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) – Even in the harshest of weather conditions, Marian University can now offer you the opportunity to work on your golf game thanks to its newly installed golf simulator, generously donated by Hornung’s Golf Products in Fond du Lac.

The golf simulator is just the latest improvement among the various upgrades to Marian University’s athletic facilities over the past year. The simulator, which is now open, is offered year round to all students, faculty and staff, as well as the public through reservation only.

“The simulator gives our golf programs the opportunity to play year-round, especially in the winters when it’s tough to get outside before competitions gear up in the spring,” PGA Professional and assistant men’s and women’s golf coach Bill Peters said. “I think it enables our student-athletes the ability to perform at a higher level in tournament golf thanks to the access of being able to work on their games at an earlier time.”

“Additionally, it provides intramural opportunities for students and offers what may be a much-needed stress reliever during times of high-demand in the classroom,” Peters added.

The facility is located in a renovated area near the workout facility inside Sadoff Gymnasium. The new training tool will give Marian University golfers a leg up on the competition, especially during the long winters such as this past year, while also allowing non-golf members the opportunity to play courses such as Pebble Beach or the Old Course at St. Andrews in the comfort of a climate-controlled indoor facility.
