Former Standout, Fitzpatrick, Signs with ECHL's Stingrays

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (SabreAthletics.com) – Former Marian University standout defenseman Tommy Fitzpatrick has signed a contract with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, the team announced today, Dec. 7.

Fitzpatrick, 25, appeared in 11 games with the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League this season and scored one goal. The Fort McMurray, Alberta native was fortunate to skate in two preseason games with the Stingrays earlier this year.

Fitzpatrick is in his first season of professional hockey after playing three seasons for Marian where he set numerous records for defensemen with 13 goals and 62 assists for 75 points over 77 games. He also led Marian to three straight MCHA Northern Division titles.
