Sabre hockey places 18 on NCHA All-Academic team

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association announced the All-Acadmic teams on both the men's and women's side of hockey placing 11 Sabres on the men's team, and seven on the women's hockey team.

Aurora University led the way on the men's side, having 15 players from its roster earn spots on the squad. On the women's side, Concordia University Wisconsin topped the field with 11 players.

On the men's side, Devin Stuermer led Marian making his third appearance on the All-NCHA Academic team to close out his career.  The Sabre men's hockey program also had four players named to the team for the second time in their respective careers in Mike Baldwin, Brodie Jamieson, Scott Milnthorp, and Ben Morgan

Justin Cooke, Mike Gudmandson, Felix Kronwall, Curtis Lewington, Cole McCaig, and Niles Owen were all named Academic All-NCHA for the first time.

Kelly Leslie highlighted the women's hockey program making Academic All-NCHA for the third time in her career.  Maddy Dixon, Rian Lennon, Jess Meluch, Paige Picard, and Amanda Siiro all made the cut for the second time in their career, while Ellie Deans was named Academic All-NCHA for the first time in her career.
