RIVER FOREST, Ill. -Marian University men's volleyball (8-16, 5-12 MCVL) couldn't find a groove falling to No. 13 Dominican in straight sets with set scores of 25-12, 25-23 and 25-18.

The nationally-ranked Stars came out swinging to open the match hitting .733 with 12 kills and only one error to jump out to an early lead.  Marian bounced back in the second set with their best offensive performance of the day.

The Sabres led in the set 15-13 before a 6-1 Dominican run gave the Stars a 19-16 advantage.  DU carried this lead out to a 24-20 score where Marian was able to hold off the first three set point opportunities before an MU ball handling error gave Dominican the tight set.

Dominican once again had a big offensive performance in the third set hitting .524 as they were able to cruise to the sweep.

Sophomore Ben Walter had six kills and hit .200 in the match, while fellow sophomore Joey Dittman assisted on 23 of the 26 Sabre kills.

Marian closes out the season with the final homestand next weekend opening with Fontbonne Friday, April 7 at 7 p.m.
