Emilie Jansen earned First Team All-Northern Athletics Conference honors for the second year in a row as the 2013 NAC Softball Postseason awards were announced by the league office, Thursday, May 2. Freshman Emily Gorges was honored to the All-Freshman team after an outstanding season in the circle for the Sabres.

Brie Hechimovich recorded two hits in an otherwise stagnant day for the Sabre offense. Marian was swept in a doubleheader at first place Aurora this afternoon, but will return Monday, to play host to Wisconsin Lutheran College in the regular season and home finale at Smith Fields.

The opponent was formidable, pitching was outstanding and it led to a stagnant offensive showing for the Marian University softball team as it was swept by host Benedictine University at the BU Softball Complex this afternoon, April 27. The Eagles took game one in six innings, 8-0, before winning game two, 7-0.

Saturday Tailgate to Highlight DIII Week Celebration
In an effort to recognize this special week, Marian is hosting NCAA Division III Week & National Student-Athlete Day this Saturday, April 13.
The athletics department will be hosting a tailgate party during the second game of baseball's doubleheader against Edgewood College at Herr-Baker Field. The event will take place from 3-4:30 p.m.

Inferno Burn Sabres at Home
Due to field conditions that were too wet to host the Marian University softball team's home opener against Alverno College, but in an effort to fit games in, today's Northern Athletics Conference doubleheader was moved to the site of the Inferno and the home field advantage proved valuable as the Sabres fell by scores of 6-5 and 9-5, this afternoon, April 7.
