AURORA, Ill. - Marian University women's basketball (3-22, 1-19 NACC) fell to Aurroaby a 91-46 final to close out the 2017-18 season.
The Spartan offense was clicking on all cylinders especially in the opening half where they went 18-29 (.621) from the field including 8-11 (.727) from beyond the arc. Despite the strong offense, Marian was able to outscore the Spartans in the second quarter by a 16-14 margin.
The second half saw the Spartans pull away, however, as they managed to cruise to the regular season finale win.
Junior Rachel Serchen closed out a strong second half of the season with a team-high 15 points and seven rebounds.
Senior Brandi Bender played her final game in a Sabre jersey and scored 12 points with four assists. Bender closed out her career with 798 points, 160 steals and 190 assists. The Markesan, Wis. native also had a career-year this season scoring 282 points.
