Second half surge not enough for Sabre women's basketball

MEQUON, Wis. - Marian University women's basketball (0-14, 0-9 NACC) outscored Concordia Wisconsin 25-15 in the second half but fell to the Falcons by a 61-40 final.

The Falcons jumped all over the Sabres in the opening half holding Marian to only 15 points in the first hal fof play.  Marian was able to bounce back in the final two quarters scoring 11 points in the third quarter and 14 points in the final stanza outscoring the Falcons in each quarter.

Senior Rachel Serchen once again put up double-figures with a team-high 13 points, while freshman Paris Harris grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.  Junior Brianna Horton and senior Sarah Schultz each had a pair of steals, while Schultz also recorded nine rebounds.

Marian closes out a three-game road trip at Illinois Tech Tuesday, January 8 for a 7 p.m. tip.
