DELAVAN, Wis. (SabreAThletics.com) – The Marian University women's golf team turned in a team score of 397, good for eighth place at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. Originally scheduled for two rounds, the tournament was condensed to a single round after rain washed out Friday's portion.
The Sabres were led by Angela Krueger's 92 (+19) which tied for 22nd place in the 56-player field. The Sabres finished ahead of Northern Athletics Conference foes Edgewood and Benedictine, while host UW-Whitewater won the team title, finishing 26 strokes ahead of second-place Carroll.
UWW finished 1-2 in the individual standings with Nicole Westcott taking first place with a 75 (+2).
Marian will be back in action next weekend, Sat.-Mon., Sept. 29-Oct. 1, when it takes part in the 2012 NAC Championship in Minneapolis, Minn.
