Alexander Earns Postseason All-NCHA Honors

SAINT PAUL, Minn. (SabreAthletics.com) – The All-NCHA Women's Conference has announced its post-season awards and Marian University sophomore goalie Amanda Alexander came away with honorable mention accolades after turning in a stellar season in for the Sabres, the league office announced today, Feb. 21.

Alexander finished the regular season ranked 16th in the nation in save percentage (.931) and 12th in saves (609). The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native reached 50 or more saves four times throughout the year, including a career-high 61-save effort in an overtime loss to Concordia Wisconsin back on Jan. 18.

She recorded a 2-0 shutout on the road against Augsburg back on Nov. 3, making 37 saves en route to the victory. In spurred a three-game winning streak for the Sabres as they went on to sweep Finlandia on back-to-back nights.

Adrian goaltender Brittany Zeches was named NCHA Player of the Year thanks in part to recording a nation-best nine shutouts on the season.
