Connaher, Goyke Honored to All-NAC Tennis Team
WAUKESHA, Wis. (SabreAthletics.com) -- Two representatives from the Marian University women's tennis team have been named to the All-Northern Athletics Conference, the league office announced today, Oct. 8. Juniors Reilly Connaher and Ann Goyke were both given All-NAC honors as singles players.
Connaher and Goyke were among the 13 members named to the All-NAC singles team, and for both, it was their first such honor.
Connaher finished the season 12-4 overall, while going 9-2 in the NAC. The Fond du Lac native competed mostly at #2 singles, going 12-3, while going 0-1 at #3 singles. Connaher dominated at the end of the season winning nine of her last ten regular season matches. During that time, she went on an eight match winning streak.
Goyke, who was named to the All-NAC Doubles Team as a sophomore, finished the season 7-9 overall, while going 6-5 in the NAC. Goyke competed as the #1 singles player for Marian. The Oshkosh native's best two outings were against Rockford and Mount Mary, sweeping the sets 6-1 and 6-0.
The Sabres will compete as the #5 seed in the NAC Team tournament, which will take place April 29-May 4.
