Sabre tennis upends MSOE in crucial NACC win

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University women's tennis (7-5, 4-3 NACC) came away with a tight 5-4 win over MSOE in a crucial NACC victory.

The Sabres dropped the No. 1 singles but came away with the other pair of double slots.  Juniors Meg Hartzell and Kristin Houle came away with an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles and junior Andrea Krahenbuhl teamed up with junior Alyssa Ostrowski for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.

Sophomore Mackenzie Meyers earned the first win for MU at singles flight No. 3 with set scores of 6-4 and 6-3, while junior Celeste Degeneffe earned a clean sweep at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0.  Freshman Brenda Ordonez earned the fifth win of the night for Marian at No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 sweep.  Hartzell would drop a tight match at No. 1 singles that needed three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.

Marian travels to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday, Oct. 4 for a non-conference match starting at 4 p.m.
