Marian cross country returns to action at Warrior Invite

WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Marian University ran in only their second meet of the season traveling to the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.

Jacob Leiden would pace the men's side of things finishing in 27th place in just under 30 minutes with a time of 29:58.99.  Austin Connelly was next in for the Sabres in 52nd place after clocking in a time of 34:25.7, while Adam Sydow ran a 35:14.75 to finish in 58th.

Nathaniel Sampson and Jarod Silhavy rounded out the Sabre scoring with a 36:35.51 and 39:28.52, respectively.

The host Warriors earned the team title for the event, while Jeremy Wallace of Lake County clocked the best individual time.

Alyssa Zuhlke had another strong finish after coming in 20th with a time of 26:51.57.  Kayla Gregar was just behind her finishing in 30th place with a time of 27:28.20.  The next Sabre to clock in was Sydney Lukes who finished at 34:03.65, while Adellie Requena crossed the line at 37:13.94 to round out Marian.

The Wisconsin Lutheran women were able to make the event a sweep with the team title with Kim Buskirk of Grace Christian earning the individual title at 24:51.60. 

Marian travels Saturday, Oct. 6 to Reid Golf Course for the Gene Davis Invitational, hosted by Lawrence.
