BRISTOL, Ill. - Marian University men's golf saw more consistent scoring shooting a 306 and 311 to finish in ninth at the Aurora Double Gun.
Jake Sherwood led the way for the Sabres shooting the two-lowest rounds of the event for MU with a 74 and a 75 to finish in a tie for 15th place overall. Maxwell Dye took home a 33rd place finish after a 76 and 78, while Caleb Martin was just one stroke behind him shooting a 77 and 78. OJ Garcia closed out the Sabre scoring with a 79 and 80 with AJ Rambaud shooting an 83 in both rounds to close out the squad.
On the second Sabre team, Tyler Demuse shot a 77 and 84 to lead the way with Kyle Doyle following him after an 85 and 87. The final three Sabres were separated by only one stroke with Jake Bell and Michael Cosenza each finishing with a 177 and Jarryd Gano closing out his rounds with a 178.
John Torres of Aurora and Ethan Green of Elmhurst led the way finishing five-under par for the event, while the Spartans earned the team title after finishing four-under par as a team.
Marian will next travel to the Midwest Region Classic held at Eagle Ridge South Course Sept. 14-15.
