Baldwin and Stuermer net weekly awards

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Devin Stuermer earned a spot on the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week following his hat trick in the finale of the MSOE series, while Mike Baldwin earned his third NCHA Defensive Player of the Week nod with a pair of wins against the ranked Raiders.

Stuermer produced his first career hat trick in the final collegiate regular season game he'll play in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wis. as Marian completed a sweep of No. 14 MSOE. Stuermer needed only the second period as he lit the lamp three times in the period in the finale of the series. The hat trick marked the fifth time Stuermer has scored multiple goals in a game and was only the second time he recorded more than two points in a game this season.

Baldwin only allowed one goal each game in the sweep of No. 14 MSOE to improve to 10-2-3 on the year.  The junior net minder totaled 31 saves on the weekend with a .939 save percentage with his lone blemish in game two of the series coming on a breakaway goal off a neutral zone turnover.  Baldwin now carries a 3-2-3 record against ranked opponents and is eighth in the nation with a 1.58 goals-against average.

Marian travels to Finlandia Feb. 5-6 with the Sabres a golden number of one point away from clinching home ice for the opening round of the NCHA playoffs.
