FOND DU LAC, Wis. - For a second consecutive week, the Marian University men's hockey program had a pair of student-athletes take in weekly honors as Brodie Jamieson was named NCHA Offensive Player of the Week, while Scott Milnthorp became the fourth consecutive Sabre to be named to the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week.
Jamieson had a five-point weekend as he helped lead the Sabres to their 10th consecutive win, longest current unbeaten streak in the country, with a road sweep at Finlandia. The junior forward assisted a pair of goals in the opener of the series before netting the game-winner in the finale. He also added a power play in game two of the series and added another assist. Jamieson also produced a +5 on-ice rating over the course of the weekend.
In just 13 games this season Jamieson has totaled 14 points with five goals and nine assists.
Milnthorp had a three-point weekend to lead the Sabre blue liners past the Lions. The junior defenseman opened the scoring in the opener with a first period goal before scoring a power play goal and assisting another in the third period of the finale. Milnthorp also produced a +3 on-ice rating for the weekend and was part of a defensive core that held Finlandia to nine shots on goal in the finale of the series.
No. 11/12 Marian is idle this weekend before closing out the regular season with a home-and-home series against Aurora. The Sabres will host the finale of the series Saturday, Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m. from Blue Line.
