Green Knights nip Sabre women's hockey in overtime

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - St. Norbert scored all three of their goals on the power play as Marian University women's hockey (4-13-0, 3-7-0 NCHA) was swept by the Green Knights.

St. Norbert was on the board first midway through the first period but the lead wouldn't last long as the Sabres quickly responded for two goals.  Freshman Megan Cook netted the first goal for her first career goal with an assist to senior Ellie Deans

Sophomore Morgan Bolin then gave the Sabres their first lead of the series on the power play with just under two minutes left in the opening period.  Fellow sophomore Ally Fox assisted the goal which was Bolin's sixth of the year.

The Green Knights then found the back of the net at the 5:04 mark of the second period to tie the game and 2:09 into overtime to secure the sweep.

Junior Lindsey Strainis (3-12-0) took the loss in net for the Sabres but made 27 saves in the defeat.

Marian hits the road traveling to Lake Forest Jan. 26-27 for a two-game series with the opener at 4 p.m. and the finale at 2 p.m.
