Sabre women's hockey falls to Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. - Marian University women's hockey (0-6-2, 0-4-2 NCHA) outshot Trine 36-28 but Trine would earn a win in the series finale by a final of 5-1.

The Thunder would score the first two goals of the game before senior Jill Schneider netted her first goal of the season on the power play at the 4:26 mark of the second period.  Sophomore Maegan Shuck assisted the goal which cut the lead in half.

Marian had 19 shots in the second period as Marian went on to record a season-high 36 shots.  Sophomore Katie Meierotto led the Marian attack with six shots on goal.

Senior Lindsey Strainis (0-6-2) made 13 saves in the defeat, while sophomore Lindsay Lewison had 10 saves in her 18:32 of action.

Marian returns to action at home Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. hosting UW-Stevens Point.
