Sabre women's lacrosse falls to Beloit 14-6 in MWLC action

BELOIT, Wis. - Marian University women's lacrosse (3-5, 2-3 MWLC) fell to Beloit 14-6 in MWLC action on the road.

The Buccaneers were able to score the first three goals of the game within the first five minutes before freshman Sally Moris found the back of the net on a free position attempt.  Beloit responded scoring another three goals before senior Hailey Miller found the back of the net, assist to Moris, to bring the score to 6-2.  Beloit found the back of the net once more with just six seconds in the half to put the Marian deficit at 7-2.

Beloit would score the first two goals of the second half before Miller and Moris each scored in a span of 59 seconds to bring the score to 9-4 with only 22:25 left to play.  After another pair of Beloit goals, junior Lindsay Lewison was able to score a free position shot, which was followed by two more Buccaneer goals.  Junior Maggie Cusey would score the final Marian goal to bring the final score to 14-6.

Moris added seven ground balls, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls to go with her three-point game.  Junior Molly Gross would face 36 shots in goal for Marian making 22 saves with five of the goals she allowed being free position shots.

Marian will next travel to Concordia Wisconsin for a 4 p.m. start Saturday, March 30.
