Second half woes cost Sabre women's lacrosse in 19-5 loss to UNW

FOND DU LAC - Marian University women's lacrosse (3-8, 2-6 MWLC) trailed by only four goals at halftime but fell to Northwestern by a 19-5 final.

The Sabres took an early 4-3 lead after 10:01 of action with freshman Sally Moris scoring all of the goals, one of which was a free position shot.  The Eagles then took the lead for good scoring six unanswered goals.  A fifth goal from Moris with 1:11 left in the half put the halftime score at 9-5.

The second half was all Northwestern as Marian was held to only seven shots and UNW was able to pull away with the 19-5 final.

Along with her five goals, Moris caused three turnovers and recorded eight draw controls.  In goal, junior Molly Gross made 17 saves on the 36 shots she faced.

Marian closes out the weekend taking on Loras at home tomorrow, Sunday, April 7, at noon from Smith Field.
