Yahr named to Johnson & Wales all-tournament team

DENVER - Senior Amber Yahr has been named to the Johnson & Wales all-tournament team after leading Marian to a 2-1 record.

Yahr (West Bend, Wis.) had another strong weekend as the Sabre setter recording assists on 123 of the 136 Marian kills for a 10.2 assists per set average.  At the net, she also tied for the team lead with five assisted blocks.  Yahr also went on to post the third most service aces with three and the third-highest dig total with 26, 2.17 digs per set.  Against the host, Johnson & Wales, she produced her fourth double-double of the season with 41 assists and 12 digs to go with two service aces and three assisted blocks.  She then closed out the tournament with 51 assists against Lewis & Clark, the first time in her career she eclipsed 50 assists.  On the season, Yahr ranks fourth in the NACC with an 8.42 assists per set average.

Marian takes on Beloit in their home opener later tonight, Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. from Sadoff Gym.
