Sabres Start Season at Tom Berry Invitational

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Marian University cross country teams traveled to the Tom Berry Invitational, which was hosted by St. Norbert College.

Lake Forest College was the top men's team at the meet, finishing in first place with 49 team points. Lake Forest's Aldana Christian won the individual title with a time of 20:45.8.

The Sabres' Jacob Leiden finished 77th, recording a time of 25:25.3. Isaac Kinjerski finished 88th with a time of 26:23.0, Cole McCaig ran a 28.02.6, and Adam Sydow crossed the finish line in 29:53.1.

On the women's side, St. Norbert finished in first with 23 team points, and the College of St. Scholastica's Casey Hovland had the best individual time (17:51.2).

The Sabres finished 13th as a team. Alyssa Zuhlke led the Sabres, finishing 65th with a time of 22:40.8. Sydney Lukes ran a 24:02.2, good for 95th place.

The Sabres will have two weeks to prepare for the Tom Hoffmann Invite, which is hosted by UW-Whitewater on Sept. 17.
